It's that time of year again!

Hey Folks,

Yes, it is that time of year again! Halloween!

We, as Christians are presented with a challenging decision here.

To Trick-or-Treat, or not to Trick-or-Treat, that is the question.

 

I think that we need to step back and take a look at our attitudes.

Are we judging other Christians who allow their children to trick-or-treat?

Are we looking down on them because they allow their children to dress up?

Christians are harder on other Christians than they are on non-Christians!!

Do we look at them and say they are new Christians and maybe we should let them work on their relationship with Christ before we inform them that they are celebrating "Satan's Holiday"?

Everything has a time and a place.

My Grandfather became a Christian later on in his life. His heart was completely changed. He really was a "New Creation". However, he swore like a sailor for a very long time after he was saved.

Do we look at his new life and say "I cannot believe he is talking like that. As a Christian, he should know better"?

Or, do we lift our eyes to the One who accepts the worst of the worst and praise him for bringing another soul into the flock?

When God, in His infinite wisdom, feels the time is right for people to change, 

He WILL change them!

Let us keep our tongues in check and not jump down every trick-or-treaters throat

because their beliefs may not be ours.

I will let you all know that our family goes trick-or-treating. There is nothing EVIL in trick-or-treating.

It is made evil by people and the way they perceive it.

If trick-or-treating were evil, then by that same reasoning, my husband and I should NOT celebrate our anniversary! Our anniversary, by the way, is June 21st. It may intrigue you to know that there are just as evil

things celebrated on the "Summer Solstice" (June 21st) as there are on Halloween, in the pagan religions.

I am not saying that some people take it a little out of control and dress up just to get the shock value.

When our family goes trick-or-treating, we go to a housing development and there are always a couple people that dress for shock value. But you can get shock value dressing just by looking at some of the things

people wear around the mall, Target, or Wal-Mart.

In closing, let us not judge those who take their children trick-or-treating, just because we believe it

is wrong. God will change the hearts of those that need it, without our help!

And, if you so choose to take your children out on Halloween, please be careful and keep a close 

eye on them......you never know what kinds of clowns you will run into. ;) Hahaha.
